Rabeprazole is a medication used orally and is aimed to treat conditions which are caused by acid. Aciphex (or Rabeprazole) belongs to the class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors or PPIs. How does it work? It blocks the acid produced by the stomach. Other drugs of the given class include omeprazole (Prilosec), lansoprazole (Prevacid), esomeprazole (Nexium), and pantoprazole (Protonix). PPIs are aimed to treat acid-caused conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), duodenal ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. Also Rabeprazole blocks enzyme and helps to the stomach to heal.
