Tamoxifen is the medication used for blocking the effects of estrogen hormone in the body. The most common usage of the medication is for treating breast cancer both for men and women. Tamoxifen can diminish the development of cancer in women who were previously under the operation of the surgeon, had a treatment with radiation or chemotherapy. The medication can also prevent the appearance of cancer in some women with high risk of the disease.
