Tamiflu is a medication taken in case of uncomplicated acute illness because of influenza A and B virus infection. Te patient should be at least one year old. As the prevention for the influenza the medication can be used for the patients aged at least one year older.
Before starting taking Tamiflu discuss with your doctor or the pharmacist whether it is possible to take Tamiflu if you have kidney disease; lung disease; heart disease; or any other serious health problems. In some cases it is not safe for some patients to take Tamiflu with such problems, in others the dosage should be regulated by the doctor; in most cases it is just decreased.
You can take Tamiflu on the empty stomach or full one, it does not matter. However, it is better to take the medication after some food eating; it will be more useful for the health.
The usual dosage for adults is 75 mg for treatment of influenza twice a day during five days long. The dosage should be diminished for children and for the patients with the renal impairment. Tamiflu can be taken for the preventive purpose in case of community outbreak or when communicating closely with the infected person. The usual dosage in such cases is 75 mg daily for persons from thirteen years old and older. The medication is save and efficient during the term of six weeks. Take Tamiflu with a full glass of water.
